About Habitat for Humanity International Qualification Guidelines

A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University, Harold M Buckner, Jr, earned his bachelor of science degree in agricultural economics and most recently served as president of the COLI BOLI business at Transamerica. Harold M Buckner, Jr, is also a dedicated member of his community and supports Habitat for Humanity International (HH).

Established in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International has helped almost 7 million people throughout the world live in affordable, safe shelter. Dedicated to bringing people and communities together, the organization also offers Habitat Learns, a program to educate volunteers and teachers about housing needs and the steps required to operate a successful HH affiliate.

Whether applying for home repairs, renovations, or new construction, applicants must first show that they are currently living in damaged, unaffordable, or inaccessible housing. HH also requires applicants commit to a significant amount of sweat equity, where they participate in the house-building program or volunteer at one of its ReStores.
